Free tool
Can Google and AI assistants read your website?
This free checker reads one page of your website the way a search or AI crawler does, then scores whether Google, ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity can find it, read it and quote it. You get four area scores, an overall score out of 100 and a fix list in order of impact. It is a snapshot, not a ranking.

How does this check work?
- It fetches the one page you give, plus robots.txt, llms.txt and sitemap.xml from the same site. It does not crawl your other pages.
- It reads the HTML as sent, without running JavaScript, which is how most AI crawlers see a page.
- It identifies itself honestly as BuiltByPaliSiteCheck/1.0 (+https://builtbypali.com/tools/website-ai-search-checker), waits at most 8 seconds and reads at most 2 MB.
- Each area scores out of 100 from the checks below. The overall score weights the four areas.
- It uses no Lighthouse, Search Console or AI model data. Rankings and AI answers depend on much more than one page.

A worked example
An invented bakery page in Ipoh, checked by the same rules:
71/100
Fair. The basics are there, but gaps stop assistants quoting you.
- Findable by search90/100
- Readable by AI73/100
- Quotable answers33/100
- Trust and local signals95/100
Its top fixes:
- 1Open the page with a 40 to 60 word direct answer. The opening is a welcome line, 39 words, not an answer.
- 2Open robots.txt to the AI crawlers you want to be quoted by. Blocked in robots.txt: GPTBot, ClaudeBot.
- 3Add an FAQ section with FAQPage structured data. No FAQPage found.
What happens to the address I type?
Your address is used once to fetch the page and is not stored. This site keeps only the day, a salted hash of your IP and a random cookie id, to hold the limit of five checks a day.

Questions about the website AI-search checker
Is this my Google or ChatGPT ranking?
No. It checks whether one page is easy for search engines and AI assistants to find, read and quote. Rankings and AI answers also depend on your other pages, reviews, links and competitors.
Why does it check only one page?
It reads the address you give, so the result is fast and exact for that page. Run it on your home page first, then on your key service or product pages.
Should I let AI crawlers into my site?
If you want ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity or Gemini to quote and link you, their crawlers must be allowed in robots.txt. You can still block training bots like GPTBot and allow search bots like OAI-SearchBot.
What is llms.txt?
A short plain-text file at /llms.txt that tells AI tools what your business does and which pages matter most. It is a proposal, not a standard, and it is cheap to add.
My site blocked the checker. What now?
Some firewalls block unknown bots. If yours blocks this checker, it may block AI crawlers too, which is worth checking with whoever runs your hosting.
What do you keep from my check?
Nothing about your site. Not the address and not the result. Only the day, a salted hash of your IP and a random cookie id, to hold the daily limit.
