The problem
Insurance agents lose buyers to big comparison sites. They know their customers, but they have no tool of their own that compares, quotes and checks out like an aggregator does.
My role
Product owner, designer and builder. Payung ships as a franchise: each licensed agent runs their own copy.
Approach
- Start from the plate number. Real plate lookup through a vehicle API, then an NCD check.
- Quotes from the national tariff. A motor-tariff quote engine and comparison across 7 insurers, for both insurance and takaful.
- An admin that agents use. Analytics on gross written premium, an insurer catalogue with an underwriting-guideline translator, and a content CMS.
- Mobile and desktop. An installable PWA with layouts for both.
Outcome
Payung is live at payung.app, and a June 2026 audit rated it ready to hand over. Live per-insurer quotes and real policy issuance are not built yet; they need an aggregator feed.
