The problem
An events company running a food festival inside a larger health expo needed a complete event website quickly: booth sales against a real floor plan, a sponsor wall, a lucky draw and an admin their own team could use after handover.
My role
Designer and builder. I adapted the platform I built for the Fragmania festival website to this client’s event, then prepared it for their team to take over.
What was adapted
- Full feature parity with the base. Booth sales with a 2D and 3D floor plan, a sponsor wall, a lucky draw with a live takeover screen, a schema-driven admin CMS, and dark and light themes.
- One venue file. All 98 booths are defined once, and both the 2D and 3D floor plans render from that single file, so the two views cannot disagree.
- Handover quality the base did not have. Versioned database migrations rebuilt from scratch, an example environment file and a written handover guide.
- A bug fixed on the way. A countdown hydration bug that the original site still carries was fixed in this build.
- Search held back on purpose. The site stays out of search until the client signs off on the booth numbering, their privacy notice and their official logo.
Outcome
The site is live for the client, kept out of search engines until their sign-off, and handed over with a guide so their own team can take over the codebase.
